This Weekend! S.F. Pride!!

If you are live in Northern California, or you are visiting, then you probably know that this weekend is the S.F. Pride celebration, officially the San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Pride Celebration.  S.F.'s pride celebration is the largest such celebration in the U.S.

Recently, a lot of attention has been paid to the well-being of LGBT Youth, which included the President Obama's national initiative to end bullying of LGBT youth.  Part of this initiative is the It Gets Better project.  The White House is also hosting its own LGBT Pride Celebration, which you can read about here.

Given this long-needed attention, this year's pride theme - "Stand Up For LGBT Youth" - is a great theme for the pride celebration.  To punctuate the importance of this theme, this month, the S.F. Giants became the first professional sports team to fashion a PSA for the "It Gets Better" campaign, which you can listen to on JSJ's YouTube page by following this link.  I have it listed under Favorites.

If you have the opportunity to go to S.F.'s pride, do it.  It's a great celebration, celebrating a great cause this year!  Celebrate your pride!!
