Real Men Wearing Jocks posted an interesting article today discussing the name branding that occurs on the waistband of jockstraps these days.  You know what I mean.  Take a look at the picture below, showing how BIKE advertises on its gear:

What do you think of this unabashed marketing?  Do you prefer the newer branded waistbands, or the simple older style?  Are we seeing a trend toward the older style with Aussie Bum's new Man collection?

Or, do you really not give a shit?  I tend to agree with the first reader of the Real Men blog who commented, saying:  "I don't care what brand it is as long as it's got a hot man in it filling it out nicely. the bigger the bulge the better."

Unless and until there is a jockstrap or underwear band that says Prissy Princess on it (and even then, some of you guys may buy it), we're considerably more interested in the whole package and not just the label.  Right?

Let's fact it, AussieBum is one of the best undergarment makers in the world.  They consistently deliver quality and sensuality at great prices with their underwear and swimwear.  So, what can we expect from their new line, "Man." 

In terms of the styling you may have come to expect from AussieBum, "Man" is definitely different.  Notice anything missing?  Where is the ubiquitous advertising and its accompanying design we associate with AussieBum?  Scaled back and streamlined. 



Of course, simply because they have started a new line doesn't mean that these will be less appealing to gay guys.  If "Man" continues to make our "junk" look like the crown jewels - the way AussieBum's other products do - gay men will come a'buying.

White Hot!

Go on any website that sells guys' undies, and you will find a lot of designers creating jockstraps and underwear in all sorts of bright colors, wild patterns, and unusual materials.  The photos below are from well-respected designers and are good examples of what I mean:

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I don't find a guy in gold lame' briefs or leopard print anything sexy.  I mean, gold lame' might have been campy on that blond dude in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," but not in reality.  And, animal prints for men's  underwear is just wrong.

In my opinion, when it comes to briefs, I think it's pretty hard to find colors or styles that are sexier than "tighty whities."  I'm a big fan of CK, Aussie Bum and 2Xist, to name just a few.

In fact, about the only time I think "tighty whities" look even hotter on a guy is when they are wet and see-through.  You know what I'm talking about...like the ones on this guy:
