Unless you have been living in a cave or under a rock for the past week or so, then you have probably heard about the storm swirling around the head of Democrat Congressman Anthony Weiner of New York. On May 27, Weiner posted a photo of a man’s bulging underwear on Twitter. Apparently, it was intended as a direct message to a female paramour, but Weiner accidentally tweeted it to the world. Ah, the difference a keystroke can make. The photo was quickly deleted by Weiner, but not before it was re-tweeted and downloaded.
In the wake of the screw up, Weiner first alleged that his Twitter account had been hacked. Under the mounting pressure of vague answers to the question - "is that bulge you?" - Weiner ultimately recanted and admitted that he had, indeed, posted the photo of himself by mistake and that it was not the only such photo to be released by the Congressman into the Cyber-Sphere.
Whatever side of this "issue" you are on, the fact remains that the Congressman tweeted an underwear pic, which makes re-blogging it here fair game, don't you think? So, here is what all the fuss is about:
Not too shabby a bulge - for a Congressman. What do you think? More importantly, do you think Weiner should resign for sending this - and apparently other - compromising photos to various women (not his wife)? Does it matter that Weiner, at least initially, was less than truthful about what happened?
